Lagos Correctional Service Honours Actress Queeneth Agbor

  

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A Headquarters, Lagos, has honoured Nollywood actress and founder of Strength Beyond Walls Foundation, Queeneth Agbor, with an Award of Appreciation.

The award was presented to Agbor in recognition of her commitment to supporting inmates and advancing initiatives focused on rehabilitation, welfare and reintegration.

Agbor has, through her foundation, continued to advocate for a more humane approach to correctional rehabilitation, with emphasis on hope, empowerment and second chances.

Reacting to the recognition, the actress expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Correctional Service, describing the award as an encouragement to intensify her humanitarian activities.

She said, “I am deeply grateful to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A Headquarters, for this recognition. It means a lot to me because the work we do through Strength Beyond Walls Foundation is driven by the belief that every individual deserves hope, dignity and an opportunity to rebuild.”

Agbor said the honour belonged not only to her but also to everyone committed to helping inmates turn their lives around.

She added, “We will continue to support efforts that help inmates discover their potential, acquire useful skills and prepare for meaningful lives after incarceration.”

The actress also called for greater collaboration among government institutions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen rehabilitation programmes.

According to her, the ultimate goal should be to ensure that inmates are given the necessary support to return to society as productive individuals.

“Our goal is to ensure that nobody feels forgotten simply because they are behind the walls of a correctional facility. There is always room for transformation, and we are committed to being part of that journey,” she stated.
